Coming in at #6: Tobias Lindberg

Feb 1st 2017

Ryan Gray-Wheeler

Originally drafted in the 4th round at 102nd overall by the Ottawa Senators in 2013, Lindberg was part of the return the Maple Leafs recieved for Dion Phaneuf.

Lindberg, one of few prospects to only play in 1 OHL season and win the Memorial Cup had 78 points in 67 games for the Oshawa Generals in 2014/2015 he went on to add 19 points in 21 games on route to their memorial cup in the post season as well.

In 81 AHL games since 2015/2016 the 6'3 215lb Swede has tallied 16 goals and 32 assist as well as appearing in 6 games with the Toronto Maple Leafs last year where he had 2 assist.

At just 21 Lindberg is the type of skill set that could see more success in a NHL role as a support player then his current job with the Toronto Marlies.

Expect Tobias to be a seasons end call-up to showcase himself a little more to management.
